I can’t believe the experience I’ve had today at the Dermatology unit at Lauriston, NHS Lothian. I’m still stunned at how quickly & easily things have happened! 

I was seen quickly due to the nature of my case & invited to attend a consultation regarding a suspected SCC at the Saturday clinic. I had the appointment with a very helpful & caring consultant in the morning. She then referred me for an urgent procedure to remove the suspected SCC & the response from the nurse was that I could attend in the afternoon (same day) for an appointment with the plastic surgeon to remove the ugly lump! Now that’s service!! 

The lump was removed by a friendly & professional team in less than 30 minutes & I was sent on my way with advice & an return appointment for stitches removal in 8 days. 

So much is written that’s negative about the NHS but you know, when you really need them, they do deliver. Thank you so much to everyone involved in giving me such an excellent experience & care.

I was so pleased to read that you had a positive experience at the Dermatology Unit, it was lovely to read that you felt very well looked after, that staff were able to arrange your appointment with the plastic surgeon on the same day and that the team was professional and friendly.

Please be assured that your story has been shared with the relevant staff/service and they are very grateful that you took the time to share this great feedback regarding the excellent care provided by them.
