"Expert professional care with kindness at the heart"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency Control Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / First responder paramedic The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My Mum was found by her domiciliary care worker at the beginning of October at her home in Dundrum at 9:00am. She called 999 and immediately received appropriate advice and was informed that a paramedic would be dispatched.

Tara the paramedic quietly and expertly assessed my mother putting everyone at ease. As mum was on a blood thinner and had received a significant head injury an ambulance was ordered. Paul and Lynsey with Taras assistance transported mum and me to the Ulster hospital until we were eventually admitted to the ED later that day. The team were so kind, and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Mum unfortunately passed awayin October in the Ulster Hospital as a result of her fall but the NIAS team were exceptional, and I wish to acknowledge their excellent care.

Good Morning Service User 2307,

Thank you for sharing such a comprehensive story, detailing your positive experience of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

It is particularly great to hear the paramedics who arrived assessed the situation fully and quickly ensuring your mum had urgent clinical treatment. It is heartwarming to hear how safe and secure you and your mum felt in their care. Furthermore, how impressed you were with the expert care and personal touch shared to ensure calm during what must have been a frightening experience.

I would very much like to share your glowing compliments with the clinicians who attended to your mum, but I would require some additional information to do so, such as:

- date and approximate time of incident

- location ambulance was sent to

I can be reached on 07867136604.

I just want to finish by adding that I am very sorry to learn of the passing of your mum. Please share my condolences to you and your family, trusting you have good support around you during this difficult time.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Demi Mckay
