"Rudeness and incompetency of staff"

About: Assessment teams / Kingston & Richmond Assessment Team

(as a service user),

I received a phone call from the Kingston and Richmond Assessment Team regarding a referral sent from my GP. The phone call came from a private number. The member of staff spoke in a thick accent which made it difficult to discern who they are, what they are calling about, etc.

The call was to inform me that they have once again forwarded my referral on to a service that could help me... which if that was all the call was going to be it wouldn't have been an issue. Instead, it was this extremely long and difficult to understand conversation about what the Kingston and Richmond Assessment Team do, my various ASD and ADHD referrals, the sheer volume of documents attached to my ADHD referral, etc.

Of course, I tried to explain that I know what the Kingston and Richmond Assessment Team do and that I know about these referrals; and that the reason the ADHD referral had so much attached to it was due to the failings of the service I kept being referred to and the fact that wires kept getting crossed leading to my continued discharge (How ASD and ADHD gets mixed up is anyone's guess).

No matter what I tried to say they kept repeating the same thing. What? You mean I shouldn't be chasing up my ADHD referral after I get mistakenly discharged? I shouldn't worry about what documents have or haven't been sent? If I didn't follow up on this nothing would get done.
