"Isolating causing difficulty"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 1 North Cardiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The care in the hospital has been very reasonable so far however I do have one issue. I was transferred from the royal and am required to isolate which I completely understand and am fine with however I have been since Wednesday and there still seems to be no progress and the nurses told me that it could be another 5 days. I have family that I want visiting however they obviously cant which is very difficult as I miss them. The staff have been generally good can’t really say a bad word about any of them, Everything’s actually good just the isolating has been awful.

Good morning

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We recognise how difficult it is for families at the minute due to Covid 19 due to the restrictions on visiting. We have introduced a Virtual Visiting Service within the Trust. This service has been established to try to support families and patients during this time and enables families to stay connected.

I attach below details on how your family/friends can book a visit. Once a virtual visit has been booked our Virtual Visiting Officer then goes along to each patient and set up the call with the virtual visitor using the Trust's iPads. These virtual visits can be with families or friends. Image title

If you would like any further details on this service, please feel free to contact the Virtual Visiting Schedulers for more details and they will explain in detail. Their contact number is 07776516419, 7 days a week 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.

Kind regards

Mairead Casey

Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to give this feedback.

I am sorry that you are missing your family, unfortunately visiting had been suspended and patients were encouraged to use the virtual visiting. However visiting has now resumed and family are welcome to make an appointment through the visiting booking line- 02837560792 between 10:30am and 1pm Monday to Sunday.

I am glad to hear that everything else has been good during your admission and wish you a speedy recovery.

Kind regards

Lynsey McCready clinical sister
