Mum mum has Vascular Dementia and other complications due to having covid in July. She was admitted to Altnagalvin Hospital and thankfully mum was treated medically but was unable to stand or walk after leaving hospital. We were advised by the OT to have mum sent over to the Waterside for rehab. This was the best decision as staff assessed mum an discovered her medication was affecting her recovery.
With assistance from the best staff and the the dementia nurse in particular who was amazing, mum was kept as settled as possible. They advised me on items that would help to keep mum as independent as possible, particularly the heated plates!
Your advice and help was much appreciated. The OT team's efforts to help mums mobility were much appreciated also. We as a family thank everyone for the care and attention our mum received and are grateful she is now home
