I would like to leave positive feedback for Shona. She has supported me throughout my first entire pregnancy from a mental health point of view. She has been amazing at listening, offering support and helping me gain clarity of any concerns I had personally and any that I had throughout my antenatal care. She was great at encouraging me to report any issues I had with my care so that they did not impact my birth. She was so encouraging, non-judgmental and uplifting if I ever had any worries at any stage. She is so down to earth and non-judgmental, you can talk to her about absolutely anything and would highly recommend any woman who needs support of any kind to ask their midwife for a referral to her service.
No woman should have to carry any unnecessary stress during their pregnancy and birth, it could be anything personal or any problems you approach during your care that you feel is impacting your mental health. She can support you to make the right choices on how to deal with it. I wished I had Shona attend my home birth as it was amazing listening to her stories and experiences. Just having the conversation about my birth plans with someone who supports all kinds of births can really give you the boost in confidence that you need at such a vulnerable time in life.
