I attended accident & emergency of northwick park on saturday 8 oct. as I was having pain in my left arm. I checked in around midday. Within 15 minutes my temperature and pressure was checked by a member of another desk staff and was told to wait for initial assessment when my name will be called. As 3 hours went by and as I still wasn't called, I inquired and I was told by a lady who is outside the desk who inquire from anyone first coming to the desk that wait time is 4 hours. By about 5pm I inquired from the desk when my turn would be to be told there are 8 people in front of me.
By 6pm I was told Iam next. I could see patients who were checked in after me getting the treatment and leaving. Finally a doctor called me around 8.15pm, after waiting for over 8 hours. After quick examination I was discharged and within 5 minutes of leaving the hospital I was called back to do further tests! From then onwards it took another three and a half hours for further tests though that I must say were swift, and the doctors and staff were exceptional. Finally I was discharged around 11.30 after more than 11 hours from my initial checking in. This is the first time I have ever waited in any accident & emergency of a hospital in United Kingdom for more than 8 hours before being assessed initially.
"Not a good experience "
