About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Cardiology NHS Dumfries and Galloway

(as a relative),

I had a telephone call from my GP at the start of September saying they had received a letter dated the previous day stating that my husband's medication needed to be changed as his heart rate was noted to be high and I was to collect new tablets at chemist.

His appointment to check ICD was early in July.  If his heart rate was that high could someone please tell me why it took nearly 9 weeks for his cardiac medication to be altered?

Dear shane123,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am sorry to hear of the delay your husband encountered regarding the change in his cardiac medication. I appreciate that this must have caused you both to worry, and I am very sorry for the stress that this has caused.

In order for me to be able to provide you and your husband with an answer to your questions around the delay, I would like to invite you to contact the Patient Experience Team to discuss your issue further and to allow me to investigate your concerns. Please email the team at dg.dgpatientexperience@nhs.scot.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your concerns, and I would urge you to reach out to the Patient Experience Team in order to allow us to fully address your questions.

Kind regards

Alexis
