"My pulmonary rehabilitation programme"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Pulmonary Rehab (Rushcliffe)

(as the patient),

I was apprehensive before my first session but everyone was friendly and welcoming. The nursing team were very kind and helpful, putting me at my ease. All the exercises were done on our own level and I was shown how to do the exercises and use the equipment.

I gained a great deal during the programme, gradually increasing the level of activities knowing the team were there to help. I also benefited from the talks from the team, particularly on improving breathing techniques and finding out about agencies to support us.

It was good to mix with other people with lung conditions too, everyone was so friendly. I have reduced my contact with groups of people since Covid arrived and it was good to feel part of a community again.

I was able to wear my mask too which made me feel safer.

A big thank you to all the rehab team, particularly Vanessa who initially contacted me and encouraged me to join the programme.

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort into providing the kind and valuable words for the Pulmonary Rehab Service.

Receiving these positive words lets our team know what a good job they are doing, and there is nothing better than personal experience from patients.

I will ensure that your feedback reach the pulmonary team.

Kind regards

Carrie Bull
