Falling the Falls Event, Geraldine from the Home Care Team arrived with the very surround. Angel. Might now have to amend my title from Falling Queen to Can Stand on her own two feet Princess.Brilliant Service.Thank you so much, folks.

Hello Falling Queen

Thank you for your lovely feedback following your recent attendance at the Falls Health Event. I am delighted that you have since been provided with the toilet surround that you have been waiting on for several months.

It is great that the provision of the equipment has supported you to be more independent and safe with your transfers whilst reducing your risk of falls.

I will pass on your very kind feedback to Geraldine in Acute Care at Home.

Regards

Update posted by Falling Queen (a service user)

Anne Marie, and guess what? Have just this morning received an appointment for next Thursday to assess my hearing loss. This is all the result of attending the Falls Event. I so appreciate all the input from yourselves.

Dear Falling Queen,

I am so pleased that we were able to support you at the Falls Event and delighted to see that some of the needs identified at the event have since been followed up on.

I hope that all goes well at your audiology appointment this week and that there is a simple solution to aid better communication which I know is impacted upon by hearing loss. Addressing hearing impairment may also help with your balance.

Hopefully the small changes made have enabled safer mobility for you and that you are now no longer the falling queen but a safer and steadier Princess.

Kindest Regards,

Ann Marie Conlon

Dear Falling Queen,

I hope that you are well at this time.

Following your positive experience at the Falls Health Event In September 2022, I would like to provide you with an update on the changes that have taken place.

We are running 2 falls health events in September this year during Falls Awareness Week. There will be an event on the 18th September in Strabane with details of venue to be confirmed at this time. There will also be another falls Health Event in Foyle Arena on 20th September between 10.30am and 2pm. At both events members of the public will have the opportunity to drop in on the day where they can access a range of services and supports to reduce risk of falls.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event again this year and hope that you are able to attend. Please share information on upcoming events with friends, family and members of your community who may benefit from attending the event.

We are currently looking for interested members of the public to provide feedback on our Falls Prevention Resources. This can be someone who has had a fall, is at risk of a fall or someone who cares for a person who has had a fall and feels passionate about improving Falls Services and Resources in the Western Trust. If this is something you would be interested in and would like more information on what is involved, please contact Úna McNaughton at involve@westerntrust.hscni.net or call on 07775993582.

Kindest Regards,

Ann Marie Conlon
