"Excellent care pre and post procedure"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as a service user),

From being diagnosed with appendicitis, having my operation and my care afterwards, everything was excellent. I had been in a lot of pain and I was sent to ambulatory care SACU by my doctor. The nurses and doctors looked after me and sent me for a scan which confirmed appendicitis. I was admitted to ward 4 In Monklands and had my operation the next day to remove my appendix. I then stayed in ward 4 for 2 nights before discharge. The nursing staff in ward 4 were amazing and I felt well looked after. Thanks to my consultant Mr Ansari and also Mr Sharaf for checking on me several times during my stay. I felt safe and well looked after. Thanks also to the theatre and recovery staff and the staff at radiology for being kind. I have recovered well and had no issues. All staff in Monklands were lovely, professional and made me feel safe and well looked after.

Dear MrsM59

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and sharing your recent experience at University Hospital Monklands ward 4.

I am sorry to hear you had appendicitis and hope you are recovering well. I am delighted you experienced the extraordinary care our teams aim to deliver every day. It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and feel valued.

It will be a pleasure to share your feedback and kind words with the team.

Kind regards

Karen
