"Excellent care"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Elderly Medicine (wards 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3c, 4c, 5c, 6a, 8a & 8c)

(as a relative),

My sister is being discharged from Gartnavel Hospital Ward 3A today. I would like to express my grateful thanks to all ward staff - nurses, auxiliaries and physios, for the excellent care she has received during her stay in the ward.

There is a lovely, friendly and caring atmosphere and she received lots of attention, as did the other patients in the ward with her. Communications between ward staff and the family were also excellent. Questions were answered promptly.

This standard of care is all the more commendable given the conditions under which staff are working. They are are clearly overworked. understaffed and under-resourced. In my view, this area of the hospital is greatly in need of modernisation. They  are the poor relations compared to facilities in the Queen Elizabeth and New Victoria, so their work ethic is even more exemplary . Please pass on my thanks.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of visiting your sister in Elderly Medicine Ward of Gartnavel General Hospital.

It was wonderful to read of the high standard of care your sister received from all the staff and how she was made to feel welcomed and comfortable throughout her stay.

It was also very encouraging to hear how well the staff communicated with you and all the family answering any questions you may have had.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to all the staff who I'm sure will be delighted to hear you and the family were happy with the care that was provided to your sister.

I hope she is feeling a lot better and thanks again this means a lot to the staff.
