"Long-needed relief"

About: Newton Heath Medical Centre

Diagnosed with flat foot over a decade ago as a child, last few years developed lower back pain and a painful bump on the sole of my foot. The doctor I saw was incredible. Friendly, reassuring, made me feel very looked after and genuinely showed concern (unlike 99% of doctors who don't care). I was given stretches and told to exercise my core, also to look for more supportive shoes. Out of the three I was only able to do the stretches regularly, followed by exercising. Years of pain, mostly gone. For a person like me, who has mental health issues, it's difficult to ask for help when most doctors make you feel like a burden or that you're wasting their time. I didn't expect to get help, I only really wanted it to be on my record that I at least tried to get help. The doctor's kindness, warm nature and reassurance helped me find the motivation to follow through with what we agreed I needed to do to get better. I don't imagine I'll have the guts to have my other dozen health issues looked into for probably the next 5-10 years knowing me, I've seen hundreds of doctors over my lifetime and most of them are the same: cold, uncaring, and a lot of the time judging. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with this doctor and hope she can continue to help people like myself. Thank you.
