"We are very grateful"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU)

(as a relative),

I would very much like to take the time to express my gratitude for the fantastic care my dad received during his extended stay in ACCU UHW.

I had the absolute pleasure of taking my dad back to the unit today to visit staff after his remarkable yet challenging recovery, following periods where we feared he would not survive.

All ACCU staff showed great care and compassion and shared our highs and lows, including medical, nursing staff, AHPs and domestic staff. We are very grateful for the care my dad received, and we both had tears of joy during our visit today where we could share our appreciation.

My personal thanks to Rachel, PT, for her feedback and support during my calls. Special thanks for the ongoing, exceptional care and support we have received from Dr McGovern, Respiratory Consultant, who has the most incredibly supportive approach to patients and their families. We are very grateful for the time he spent with us, giving us the opportunity to ask questions and discuss our hopes and fears.

Dear CT1974

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about your recent experience at University Hospital Wishaw, ACCU.

It must have been a really worrying time for you, I am pleased to hear your dad is now recovering. It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and feel valued by people accessing services.

It will be pleasure to share your feedback and kind words with the team.

Kind regards to you and dad

Karen
