My daughter was scheduled to attend a follow up appointment which was critical to her long term complaint. I recieved a letter advising of her appointment, the impact of non attendance on appointments and strict instructions on logistics of attendance. We arrived at Easterhouse clinic for said urology appointment only to find no one was available. The nurse who normally leads the clinic is on leave with no replacement. The receptionist was embarrased and couldnt be more apologetic. Im extremely frustrated and annoyed that no simple communication was put in place to advise of the cancellation. Im now left with expenses to pay for a wasted hour round trip, a teenage daughter who is still experiencing significant issues requiring a plan with no idea on who i can reach out to or next steps. I completely appreciate the pressures the NHS is experiencing however this is a basic process. I see no other option but to start again via my GP 2 years down the line of her complaint. This standard of care is appalling and has caused avoidable anxiety and distress.
