"Support dealing with anxiety"

About: Borders Community Services / Wellbeing Service

(as a service user),

I was referred to the NHS Borders Wellbeing Service through my GP to help deal with anxiety. I hadn't experienced anxiety that didn't go away before so sought some help.

The referral was quick and I got an initial assessment appointment via telephone. I was then given support through weekly/fortnightly appointments with the same wellbeing advisor each time. Throughout the time, Karen gave me lots of strategies to help me and also helped me think about my views on different things that could be contributing to it.

Over time my anxiety has improved and I'm able to deal with it much better and not be afraid of it. I've come away with lots of tools in my toolkit for it and feel confident in dealing with it...I also know that I can contact the service again should I feel like I need to.
