"Poor experience of CAMHS"

About: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – Community(County) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services - Crisis Team

(as a relative),

They have left my sister without a mental health professional for months now because the one she was seeing was leaving so she had to go back onto the waiting list. 

Social services have been involved twice now and each time they have said there’s nothing they can do. Bear in mind she has displayed threatening behaviour to two members of family who have medical conditions.

She has been left without medication - which she needs to help stabilise her moods but her GP who has agreed with us can’t do it. 

I think CAMHs and MIND are a waste of time. So are the crisis teams. CAMHs crisis have said they can’t talk to her as she hasn’t got a worker at the moment and MIND have said it will be weeks before we will hear anything.

I am sorry to hear that you and your sister have found it difficult since your regular CAMHS worker has left. We can appreciate the changing of clinician can be destabilising especially if there is a wait for this.
