"Amazing care and compassion"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Intensive care unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My brother-in-law was recently admitted through ED and into ICU, where he unfortunately passed away.  From start to finish he and we were treated with care, compassion and respect.  From the paramedics, ED staff through to the ICU nurses and Consultants, the difficult process was made so much easier with your professionalism and genuine care.

Special thanks to Fiona and Mary in ICU who on the day he passed, went above and beyond to accommodate and support us as a family as well as giving incredible patient-centered care to my brother-in-law.

We will never be able to thank you enough.

Dear Kayla22

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion.

I am so very sorry to read about your brother in law. Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family. I appreciate this must be a very difficult time for you all and I'm also sorry there wasn't a better outcome.

What you have written is very kind and it would seem the very difficult circumstances were made somewhat a little easier with the care given by all the staff.

If you would like your comments to be passed back to the Ambulance crew, please may I ask you email sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, date, time and address of where we attended to your brother in law. It would also be extremely helpful if you made reference to your CareOpinion username which will enable us to easily link to this story.

Thanks again. I wish you and your family the very best

Lesley

On behalf of the ICU team, I wish to pass on our condolences.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback at what must be an awful time for all of your family.

I will pass on your kind words to ensure that those present on the day are able to see that their actions were not in vain despite us not being able to save your brother-in-law.

Best wishes for the next days and weeks.
