"Excellent surgeon and care all round"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had surgery in August 2022 to fit a gastrostomy button and have a skin biopsy done, the surgeon Mr James Andrews is fantastic. He explains everything so well and is very caring.

I had raised my concern that we were struggling with the NG tube and this concern was listened to and surgery booked in. I felt like my son was in brilliant hands.

The whole team who also cared for my son on ward 3B were also brilliant, and in particular the anaesthetists who we met before surgery.

For what is a difficult time when your child is having surgery, we were made to feel comfortable and well looked after and the surgeon and other staff involved in my son's care deserve to know that their kindness and care is appreciated.

Dear Lochness2019,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience while your Son was in for his surgery and I hope that he is continuing to recover well at home?

I will make sure that your feedback is shared with Mr Andrews as well as the teams within Theatre and Ward 3B. It means such a lot to our teams to hear that they are making a difference to those we care for and I am sure they will be delighted to read the lovely feedback you have left.

Thank you again for taking the time to post.

Catriona Riddell

Lead Nurse - RHC
