"Winter Vaccines"

About: General practices in Fife

(as the patient),

Went for my Winter Vaccines at the Health Centre to be horrified at the amount of people in the waiting room.

There was people sitting almost shoulder to shoulder and people standing so close to each other, in some cases almost touching each other. Disabled people having to stand because of there being no seats available. As if this wasn't enough when I reached the registration desk, which when entering the room, was almost impossible to see because of the crowds waiting, I was told when I asked about the waiting time that it would be at least 45mins ,or possibly longer

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I'm experiencing a flare up at present so there was no way I could sit for an hour without getting up to walk around . Let alone standing for the same time so I was left with no option but to leave and try to arrange another appointment. As I am on immunosuppressant drugs is not ideal as I am at greater risk of catching COVID or Flu. This was also a reason that the conditions in the waiting room were definitely not ideal for me either

Considering the rise in COVID numbers at the moment and the expected rise on flu cases this whole thing was an utter fiasco.
