I had a pre-op assessment for total knee joint replacement and, probably like most people was a little anxious about the process. There was no one at reception to hand my letter to but there was a red box with a sign.
From first contact with the nurses carrying out the assessment, I was increasingly put at ease and actually began to enjoy the process.
Jayne is the nurse who conducted the evaluation along with a student who’s name I can’t remember, (apologies!), but both were so comforting and careful it stood out.
I had a lot of questions and none were treated as unimportant or silly, including if I could bring my own pillow to prevent migraines.
I can’t give enough praise to both of them. Even though it was a serious appointment, gathering vital information for an upcoming surgery, it felt more like going round a friend for a cuppa.
A truly delightful experience.
