"Community Phlebotomy Eastwood Health and Care Centre"

About: Community Nursing

(as a service user),

I attended my appointment for Community Phlebotomy. I particularly appreciated being able to do this locally and not have an extra trip to a hospital location.

Stephanie and Samantha did a very professional job and I appreciated having the pillow to rest my arm when the bloods were being taken. I hope to have this in the future as it really did help me to relax my arm.

Thank you and it was greatly appreciated.

Dear Lwhgiffnock,

My name is Deirdre McCormick and I am Chief Nurse for East Renfrewshire HSCP.

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. I am delighted to see that you appreciated the fact you could attend Eastwood Health and Care Centre to have your bloods taken, which prevented a longer trip to a hospital.

The reason for us being able offer these community phlebotomy appointments in Eastwood Health and Care Centre is because the health board are working together with Health and Social Care Partnerships to provide an increasing number of services to allow more treatment and care to be provided at, or closer to, home.

These new ways of working are part of the major Moving Forward Together programme to transfer future health and social care services for the whole population.

I am also delighted to read that you found the use of the cushion comfortable and this helped you.

I will pass on the feedback to Stephanie and Samantha and I am pleased we have been able to offer this local service to you.

Kind regards

Deirdre McCormick

Chief Nurse
