"These staff deserve medals"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Critical Care Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Renal Medicine (Kidney)

(as the patient),

I went to give birth to my 1st baby. Unfortunately I took unwell and got sepsis. I was taken to Ward 106B in ARI, where the amazing drs and nurses took amazing care of me.

Due to the sepsis, my kidneys stopped working and I needed to go to Renal Ward 108 in ARI. The drs and nurses were very kind to me and let my husband and new born daughter stay with me on the ward. This made the 1st 2 weeks of family life as normal as possible for my little girl and helped us bond together as a family.

I am especially thankful to the acute dialysis nurses for giving me the treatment that I needed to get me home to my family. These staff deserve medals, they really made a bad situation as good as it could be, and me and my family will always be grateful! Thank you all again! xxxx

Hi Sengee14

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely message about the care you had received with us. I have shared your kind words with the managers of both W108 and the acute dialysis team, so that they can share your thanks with the staff who looked after you and your family. The ward managers were very grateful and glad to hear that your early start to family life has not been impacted with your short hospital stay.

Thank you again and I wish you and your family well.

Lesley
