I came in as an emergency, waited 2 hours in Accident & Emergency, which wasn't so bad. The nurses were very efficient and told me what was happening every step of the way.
Quite quickly I was told I had to stay in as I had a stone in my bile duct and was jaundice. I was taken to Ward B11, where the staff go above and beyond to help. I couldn't swallow so got all my antibiotics and pain relief intravenously. They also told me what was happening every step of the way, checking in on me, seeing if I needed anything.
It was quite clear to me that the ward was understaffed and overworked , but these bunch of nurses carried on with smiles on their faces, keeping the patients' morale up. As did the porters and auxilliaries.
Well done, B11, what a great team you have, and a special thanks to Stacey, who looked out for me. In my view, these guys deserve a huge wage rise.
"What a great team"
