"Covid Vaccination Appointment"

About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a relative),

I accompanied my 85 year old father to his "appointment" for his Covid/Flu jab.  He attended promptly for his "appointment" to find a queue of at least 20 people, probably more.  Why?

He then had to wait for 40 minutes (past his "appointment" time) to receive his vaccinations.  Again, why?

There did not appear to be any appointment system in place, merely working through the queue.

I accept that there can be delays, however, why provide an appointment and then offer what appeared to be a drop-in service?

I observed frail elderly people standing in a lengthy queue for a lengthy period of time.  Why?
