"Hip replacement at Stobhill Hospital"

I received a hip replacement last month at Stobhill Hospital as day surgery, although required an overnight on Ward A.  I have to say, the care I received from everyone on that day was second to none. 

I was put at ease and felt in safe hands both before and during the operation itself.  The care I received once on Ward A was compassionate and professional.  You could see how busy the ward was, but it never showed in the staff.  Nothing was a bother and I felt well looked after.  I was also well supported by OT and physio who made sure I was comfortable and safe to be discharged home. 

I was then followed up the next day by telephone where I felt able to ask all my anxiety-driven questions regarding my recovery!  Also want to praise the pre-op outpatient service at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary who made sure I was fit for the operation and put my mind at ease about the whole process.

I'm so grateful for the NHS and would not hesitate to go back for my other hip if needed.
