(as a parent/guardian),

My 14 year old son had a nasty cut above his eye and some concussion playing rugby.

We attended the Minor Injuries Unit at the Victoria Infirmary, where we checked in with the friendly receptionist.  We waited for around an hour and a half before being seen by a nurse called Mark.  He was truly excellent!  He explained everything clearly and patiently directly to my son.

He proceeded to give a local anaesthetic and neatly stitched the wound.  He was friendly, calm and professional throughout the treatment.  He provided good information on how to deal with the concussion and when to have the stitches removed.

Please pass on my thanks to the team, and especially Mark, at the Victoria for their great work.  Well done!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to you and your son's experience of using the Minor Injuries Unit of the New Victoria Hospital.

I was sorry to hear your son had to attend the Unit due to a nasty cut above his eye and some concussion while playing rugby.

It was however great to hear of the fantastic care and treatment your son received from the staff within the Unit. It was very comforting to hear how the staff explained the process to you and your son and provided a professional, calming attitude throughout his treatment.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to all the staff involved who I'm sure will be touched to hear how you both had such a pleasant experience while under their care.

I hope your son is feeling a lot better now back at home.
