Despite arriving early for my appointment at P.R.I. I was taken through within minutes to a cubicle where I changed into a gown and the nurse went through my paperwork and procedure. She was very friendly and put me at ease. I was introduced to another nurse who would also be in the room during my procedure.
I sat in a separate waiting room from the male patients and in due course I was taken to the endoscopy room where I was introduced to the other people in the room.
Everyone was friendly, put me at ease and the procedure was relaxed and dignified.
The nurse in recovery was as efficient, professional, reassuring and polite.
I have had many such procedures in many different hospitals and this was by far the most person centred experience to date.
I have so much praise for the N.H.S. and only positive experiences since my diagnosis 33 years ago. Thank you.
