"Emergency admission to Coronary Care RAH Paisley"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Cardiology

(as a friend),

My friend was admitted to Coronary Care after attending as an outpatient for an ECG. She is normally a very fit elderly lady. She was shocked and anxious to find she would have to be admitted. From arriving in the ECG department, where she had a routine Outpatient appointment, to being discharged from the Coronary Care Unit her treatment from every single member of staff she came into contact with was exemplary. She was extremely anxious about being in a hospital environment as it had been 45 years since she last had a hospital admission.

She was cared for by Dr Eileen and her team. Everything was explained to her and she had the opportunity to ask any questions.

She was very touched, when 2 staff members from the ECG department where she had been the previous day, actually came to the CCU to visit her and brought her some goodies from the shop.

As her friend I thank everyone so much for making her feel safe and far less anxious during her stay. She still has some follow up as an outpatient which will not be as frightening for her after her very positive experience.
