My husband attended University Hospital Hairmyres for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy following serious gall bladder disease with complications. After having been so ill, he was naturally apprehensive regarding this.
He was admitted through Day surgery and every single member of staff he encountered was extremely professional , helpful and friendly. He was visited preop by the anaesthetists and surgeons (Mr Murray and Mr Dirollo) who explained in detail his proposed surgery and helped allay his concerns. His surgery was successful, thanks to the skill of the entire surgical team, and his post op care was excellent. Communication from all involved was brilliant.
I have no doubt at all that during his initial illness, his life was saved by our amazing NHS and now, hopefully, he has been given the chance to return to full health.
I can’t explain just how grateful I am to every single person involved in his care. Huge thanks to you all .
