My husband had to attend Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), which is on the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), to be further assessed due to a range of concerning symptoms.
The front desk staff were lovely and helpful and the nurse Tracey, who was running SDEC, was amazing. Tracey was friendly and skilled and really reassuring with someone who is very anxious about medical procedures. Tracey was always professional and despite being the only nurse, with 1 doctor for most of the day, she still found time to check in with the patients waiting including making several drinks.
The doctor Nick was great and made sure that my husband had a scan and then everything he needed and that he understood what he needed to do before he was discharged. The radiographer was great and kind when having to put in a new cannula and Dr Hands was wonderful, very knowledgeable and reassuring regarding his diagnosis and management plan.
Lastly but not least Sodexo staff including porters and domestics were all very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for anyone. Really positive experience all round.
