"Issues with the continuing support of the vulnerable person I care for"

About: Hounslow Recovery Team East

(as a carer),

Since Covid 19 all care from recovery team east has stopped. Her CPN  left and, despite many attempts to contact and find out who had been assigned to take over, myself and 2 social workers had no reply or responses from emails or phone calls. We have just been told we will get someone to contact you which- never happened.

The patient has a long term depressive disorder and psychosis,  eating problems agoraphobia and borderline personality disorder, to name a few of her problems.

After a long time we were informed that she had been discharged to MINT (Mental Health Integrated Network Teams) and given the so called allocated workers name and contact number. Again, phone calls and emails from myself and social services have had no response. The social worker then informed us she had to discharge the client as everything had changed and her manager had reassigned her.

The client had her medication delivered by a local pharmacy until a national shortage of her anti-psychotic medication made it unavailable for her, so the pharmacy asked for an alternative medication prescription from GP over a week ago. The GP has informed us that until they receive a reply from a doctor at mental health services, they cannot issue an alternative. So now I have a client with psychosis who has no medication to help supress voices which constantly tell her to take her own life-it's disgusting.

The recovery team west was a previous team involved with her, as well as Reading and Hillingdon mental health teams- where we were listened to and made progress over time; until 2016 when she moved. She was relocated to recovery team east and has just been left, fobbed off and now deserted.

I am now caring for an at-risk person with no help from any of the services that have a duty of care for her, they just re-categorise her risk and desert her to save their budget. What load of rubbish and denial will come from this story? Nothing, as I believe it will be hushed up and not shown.

A concerned carer.
