"Menopause & mental health"

About: Adult Mental Health Services / Adult Community Mental Health Service Adult Mental Health Services / Mental Health Inpatient Service General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

Over the last 2 years I have been very unwell with menopausal mental and physical issues my GP Practice at Greenock Health & Care Centre has gone above and beyond to get me the correct intervention. The Ambulance Service who were called out to me regularly over that period of time, exemplary care,

I was referred to the Inverclyde Mental Health Team at Crown House, Greenock, these guys just don't get the credit they should and the team got me through so many awful days, psychiatrist working with my GP to get me the correct antidepressant to saving my life when I become suicidal by admitting me to Langhill Psychiatric Hospital in Inverclyde Royal.

I have not the words for the Mental Health Team in there who are compassionate, supportive and caring day in day out. I especially want to thank the trainee Dr who investigated physical issues due to menopause and got me on HRT.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart every single one of these professionals for being a part of saving my life and giving me my Mental and Physical wellness back.

I am indebted forever. Thank you our magnificent NHS!

Dear Fairydust

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of using our Mental Health Services and your GP Practice.

I was relieved to hear you have felt supported and have been provided with advice by our staff in what must have been a very difficult period in your life.

I can see from my colleague Anne's comments above she has already passed your kind words on to your GP Practice so thank you. This means so much to the staff involved.

I hope you continue to get the help and support from the service you may need in the future.

Kind regards

Kevin
