"Prolapse and hysterectomy operation"

About: Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7) Borders General Hospital / Gynaecology Borders General Hospital / Theatres

(as the patient),

I needed this procedure, but due to covid I had to wait for over 2 years before I was operated on. The care I received -  from my admission, to theatre staff, my surgeon Dr Darlow and anaesthetist, and finally to Ward 7 for recovery - was second to none.

I was anxious and apprehensive, the staff were wonderful without exception. We live in a world that can be so critical, never seeming to praise the good especially within the NHS, but I want to say thank you to you all.

I know there are staff shortages, but I never felt anything other than being cared for. The hierarchy at BGH should be very proud and grateful that with all the pressures their nurses surgeons ancillary staff are under, they are efficient and caring . A very grateful patient.
