"For my son, the care has been life-changing"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / 23 Hour Unit ( Ward 1A) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Ear, Nose & Throat (ward 3b)

(as a parent/guardian),

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff within the ENT department and also the amazing staff in 1A and 1B who dealt with my son's operation.

My son has been in so much pain with his ears for over 2 years and the staff have been outstanding not just with my son but also me. He has had 3 operations at your hospital and every time they have been amazing!

My son is also autistic and they accommodated him for appointments and for his operations making things a lot less stressful for him and me. The consultants took time out their busy schedule to sit and talk me through everything and help me have a better understanding of the issues my son is having, and they also brought me a coffee when I was increasingly upset. Now I feel like they have all gone over and above and I am truly grateful. I can honestly say that every single member of staff has been so amazing to my son and me and for that I can't thank you enough.

Please can you tell everyone that worked with my son yesterday in 1A and 1B and all the staff involved in the last 2 years including the amazing secretary Aimee how grateful I am for their support.

I understand this is just routine for them, but for my son this is life changing. Again, thank you for everything. I am forever grateful.

Dear Nicole123,

Sorry to hear that your son has been in pain with his ears over the past 2 years and he has had to undergo 3 operations, I hope he is now recovering well and is pain free.

Thank you for taking the time to post on care opinion regarding the care your son and you have received over the past two years. It was lovely to read how amazing the staff have been and how they have accommodated you with regards to hospital appointments and his operations.

I can only imagine what a stressful time you both must have been through but to hear how supportive the staff have been to you both during this incredibly stressful time was great to hear.

We will definitely pass on your thanks to the team who will be delighted to receive your lovely feedback, and to know that they made such a life changing difference for you both. We will also make sure Aimee knows how grateful you were for her support during your son's journey.

Our patients and families are always at the centre of our delivery of care and to hear your son and you felt that experience is the greatest appreciation we can have.

Kind Regards

Mandy
