"NHS Lanarkshire vaccination, Ravenscraig"

About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a relative),

Took my elderly mother for her vaccinations. She has mobility issues and is breathless on minimal exertion.  On arrival there was a large queue, despite using a walking aid she can sit on when stationary, the length of wait caused her to become very uncomfortable and required a seat.  There was no chairs available and no staff member offered to provide a chair.  Had to locate a chair for mum myself and went back to keep her place in the queue.

Mum raised this as a concern for other elderly people who may not be able to stand and witnessed another man’s daughter having to find him a chair.

It may sound basic but not being in pain today would have made a difficult journey for mum much easier.

She now feels she will be unable to attend for vaccinations in future but fears being forgotten if she has to wait for a district nurse.

Dear centaursqd83

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback of your recent experience at the Ravenscraig Vaccine Centre.

I am sorry to hear of the lack of seating available, and how this led to your mum being uncomfortable. This feedback is very helpful and valuable to us. We always want to ensure our patients, patients family and carers are treated well, and take your comments seriously. We will communicate this to our teams.

Thank you

Karen
