"I am in great pain and still in limbo"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre University Hospital Monklands / Medical Oncology (Ward 16)

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer a year and a half ago, and up to a point had excellent healthcare from the team at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. However some of my care has been split between there and University Hospital Monklands, and ever since my care has been sporadic and in lots of cases unhelpful.

I'm still very symptomatic, even since surgery to resect my bowels for the cancer, and have had a follow-up MRI and a CT scan. The MRI was supposed to be checked by the Glasgow Royal Infirmary's Pancreatic MDT team, this has not happened. The CT report, a month and a week later, has not been completed.

I feel like I am in limbo, with not much happening and I am still in great pain, discomfort, and having issues.

Dear Jojow1996,

Thank you for your post today. I was very sorry to read that your care has not been co ordinated across the different services and that you are experiencing a great deal of discomfort.

Nicky Donnelly Lead Nurse at the Beatson in Glasgow would be able to assist you to help get your care back to what it was previously. Nicky can be contacted on 0141 301 7079 or by email at Nicky.Donnelly@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.

We can then support you going forward and hopefully address these issues.
