"March Recovery Cafe - Cambs Recovery Service"

About: Cambridgeshire Recovery Service

(as a service user),

When it first got set up i was really enthusiastic, i still am but recently I've gone through a lot of trauma, coming here gives me the motivation to get out the house.  We sit here and we talk, not about drugs or drink but about everything.

It gives you that little bit of motivation to do something with your life instead of sitting there, doing nothing or wallowing.  I come here, i meet good people, i meet new people, new friends.

I just hope this carries on and we can get new people in.  I think we need to advertise more, not just in CGL but everywhere.

Hi there

you are so right! Getting out and about when you really don't want to is something which is hard but can really help. There are other groups you can connect with across the county via zoom which are great for people to feel connected to. All of our service users are aware of what we do, we keep encouraging attendance at the relevant groups. There is so much more to drug and alcohol services than speaking about drugs and alcohol!

Keep attending!!
