"I was treated with respect and dignity"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

(as a service user),

I had a procedure today which I had been dreading. The team were outstanding. They gave me time to voice my concerns and explained the rationale in a clear way. The procedure was pretty awful, but because I knew what was going to happen and why, and was constantly reassured, I coped really well. Each team member worked harmoniously and efficiently. I was given good pain control and excellent advice around aftercare. This situation could have been traumatic, but has instead made me feel that I matter. I was treated with respect and dignity and not patronised. Thank you.
