My dad was admitted through SATA at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow one week ago with what turned out to be pneumonia. From his initial assessment in SATA he was then admitted to ARU 5 for 24hrs before finally being admitted to Ward 7B, where he is still a patient.
The care he has received in all has been exceptional, all of these units were extremely busy but they still found time to keep my mum updated . SATA provided him with the essential cups of tea and biscuits he needed to keep him going, and were so thorough in their investigations they can’t be faulted.
ARU 5 updated my mum in in the morning when she called regarding how he was overnight, and 7B again have been fantastic putting him at his ease as he’s never been in hospital before in his 80 yrs, and if possible they let my mum speak to him on the phone most mornings.
On top of all this, the medical care he’s received has been second to none, what a great job you all do. Hopefully he will be home soon, but all these little touches make such a difference, especially to the patient but also to the families that are worrying at home .
Keep up the fantastic work you do.
