About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as a service user),

I unfortunately had to attend the Gynaecology day ward at QEUH recently as I required a surgical procedure for an incomplete miscarriage. All members of the team were very attentive, kind and compassionate.

I had one nurse, one healthcare assistant, a doctor and a consultant caring for me. I didn't expect so many people to be looking after one patient. Unfortunately I can't remember all their names but thanks to Charge Nurse Fiona and Dr Claire. You made a horrible experience much more bearable. 

My only criticism is the location of the ward. It is very close to the labour ward and I had to walk past a new mum and baby. Although not too triggering for me, this could be a very difficult experience for a woman having a miscarriage.

I have shared your feedback with the team, Dr Claire Higgins, Charge Nurse Fiona and the team. They are delighted to receive this and very much appreciate your kind words at what must be a very sad time for you.

I appreciate the location of the ward is not ideal and we will review the services we deliver from there.
