"Emergency visit to Opthalmology"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Following a scheduled eye test (I’ve already thanked the Opticians) and experiencing some loss of vision I was given a ‘rush’ appointment to Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline. I was seen by the On Call Opthalmologist Dr Mair.

It didn’t help that I was also in a deal of pain/ limited mobility due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I cannot thank Dr Mair enough for her care and manner and especially, in light of the confusing symptoms, her way of explaining what may or may not be the way ahead.

Subsequently, with my sight worsening I have again been seen at short notice by both Dr Mair and her boss Dr Styles. I believe I present as a what’s-going-on-here? patient. Believe me, I do appreciate that if a Consultant can use the word ‘stumped’ but still pull out the stops to identify the causes, I’m in good hands. Thank you again.

PS - Dr Mair must be the best taker-of-blood samples ever. Not a mark!
