"Maternity experience at Wishaw General"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Wishaw after my waters broke at 37+4 wks. I was taken to the antenatal ward to await labour starting naturally, or I would be induced within 48hrs.

I went into labour the next evening and baby was born the following morning. We ended up getting kept in due to jaundice, and then subsequently readmitted to Special Baby after the jaundice came back.

I would just like to thank the staff involved in looking after us and our daughter. I was so grateful to them and they were personable, compassionate and professional, especially when dealing with an awkward and difficult patient who was also on my antenatal ward. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience staff-wise, and I know this is echoed by others I know that have given birth at Wishaw recently.

I can't remember all the names of the staff, but I'll give it a go - Melissa, Tracey and Ann (antenatal), Geraldine and Susan (labour), Vicki, Lisa and Jennifer (postnatal), Leanda, Linda and Steph (Special Baby) and Dr El and Jenna (neo-natal). You are all an absolute credit to Wishaw and the NHS and anyone who has any of you to look after them is very lucky indeed. I truly cannot thank you enough.
