"Reassuring and friendly emergency care"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance St John's Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I was taken to SJH Emergency Department by an excellent and reassuring ambulance crew (one paramedic and one trainee Technician - Craig) with chest pain. Given the nature of my pain,I was quite scared but at the same time, put at ease by the excellent ambulance staff and by the nurse who cared for me once in hospital. Here name was Robin and she was an agency nurse. She was very professional but also friendly. I was looked after medically by Consultant Jonathan Wrait who again, was efficient, thorough and friendly. Dr Wrait communicated everything to me in a way that I could understand and provided me with a rationale for the decisions he was making. Thankfully, I was discharged later that day safe in the knowledge that any pain I'd experienced earlier was nothing serious. An excellent example of professional, personal, reassuring and friendly emergency care.

Dear patients dad

Thank you for your kind words about the Scottish Ambulance Service crew who attended you. It must have been a very frightening time and I am glad they they were able to put you at ease. I do hope that you are feeling better now.

If you would like me to pass on your thanks and have the crew commended could I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care Opinion username, date and address where we attended.

Kindest regards

David
