"Poor hospital stay and follow up"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / Urology (Ward 6)

(as a service user),

I was admitted to ward 6 monklands via a&e and had my operation that night.  The care I received in the following week was shocking.  I was given the wrong drug wasn't listened to when I took unwell and observed poor infection control.   To top it off I'm having to chase up my out patient procedure to remove a ureteric stent.  I work in healthcare I am utterly disgusted at the way I have been treated and the way no one has helped to get anything done. 

I am so stressed about dealing with the hospital.  I cannot understand how care standards have fallen to such a low level.  Very disappointed and let down by the NHS. I have now been given a further course of oral antibiotics by my GP for a uti (recurring infection likely due to stent).  I will continue to try resolve this issue.  I'm not optimistic though.
