"Epilepsy Diagnosis"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neurosurgery (Ward 64 – 66)

(as the patient),

I have several different seizures; partial, full body, black outs, a lot of different kinds.

About a year ago got an ambulance to the house and the trained paramedic said I had epilepsy and told me she was trained in this, I got referred to two consultants .

The one I saw today says they don't think I've got epilepsy and I've to go into hospital for a few weeks to get a scan of my brainwaves.

My witnesses have found me and saw me jerking up and down in a seizure

Dear Christine Duffy,

Thank you for posting this response about your current health. I was very sorry to read of the symptoms you have been experiencing over the past number of months. This must have been a worrying time for you.

It's reassuring to hear that you will be coming into hospital for the clinical team to be able to assess you and get to the bottom of what is going on. I appreciate undergoing scans and waiting to hear of a diagnosis will be a stressful time for you.

I wish you well Christine and please know our team will be here to support you through this stage.

Kind Regards

Elaine Burt
