"Peterhead MIU"

About: Peterhead Community Hospital / Out Patients Department

(as a service user),

I attended Peterhead MIU with chest pain (severe, was in tears) in the early evening.  On arrival, doors were open, so I entered the department. I was quickly met by a nurse. I explained my chest infection - had 1 week of antibiotics, on 2nd week and whenever I took got chest pain/upper abdominal pain after, severe in nature.  I was told to go home and phone 111. The department was not busy

Instead, I stayed in the department (although locked outside by double doors) as I didn't want an ambulance sent for pain - as happened previously

Attitude from nurse was awful and made me feel so upset. Not once did she check on me, knowing I was outside doors, in case condition worsened.
