I attended the Women’s Health Unit at University Hospital/Wishaw General, Lanarkshire today for diagnostic tests re post menopausal bleeding.
Outwith my fears about the actual causes of the PMB, I was feeling pretty anxious beforehand about the actual testing process itself, but the treatment and care provided by Dr Pandravada and the nursing staff was excellent throughout. After an initial consultation, I had an internal ultrasound scan, a hysteroscopy and a biopsy done. Everything was explained to me beforehand and I was kept informed and included in dialogue during the tests themselves. My questions were answered patiently and considerately. The initial findings of the tests were explained to me as was the need for a return visit for further treatment.I have been lucky so far in my life to have very rarely required hospital treatment but now that I do, I feel more reassured by the experience I had today for whatever lies ahead. It will be a nervous wait for the biopsy results now for me but I’m very grateful to the doctor and all the staff in the unit for helping me get through my first appointment today.
"I’m very grateful to the doctor and all the staff"
