"Parking"

About: Chester Le Street Hospital

Went for respiratory appointment.

They refused to perform test. That's another story.

Went to leave hospital to find the parking was cash only.

Went to reception and informed I could get money from a cashpoint at the local garage to pay for parking.

Machine only takes coins which would mean purchasing items I did not want. Also, being in a digital age I don't use a card as I use contactless so unable to get money in the first place.

I pointed out I was being charged parking for an appointment which ultimately never happened. Parking was then written off.

No concern was taken over the fact I was short of breath. Hence, the respiratory appointment.

Despite this, what about all patients who have difficulty getting around being asked to go to a cashpoint?

If the Trust is determined to fleece patients of the little money they have! Surely, they can invest in contactless payments.
