My mother was taken into hospital by paramedics. They took two hours to arrive following my call because they are short staffed. We were very grateful to them for the care and attention they paid to my mother, and their kindness.
She was treated at NwP hospital and all the staff, nurses, doctors and physiotherapists including those delivering the meals, were caring, kind and often went beyond to assist my mother. What was so striking was the shortage of staff and it exposed the demands placed upon those working on the ward. The NHS really is staffed by extraordinary people who even pushed to their limit, continue to deliver. It is difficult not to feel they are taken advantage of.
We are grateful to them for all they did for our family and only hope they will are going to be better supported in doing the difficult and important job they do.
